| Devon specializes in teaching both horses and riders to learn to ride sidesaddle, both for the show ring and the hunt field, and always has an excellent selection of english sidesaddles for sale. She regularly rides aside with the Middleburg Hunt, and shows in the sidesaddle division at USEF shows. She and her former horse "Quest" won the division Championship at the 2006 Pennsylvania National Horse Show in Harrisburg, and were awarded "Best Turned Out" at both the 2007 and 2008 Virginia Field Hunter Championships while riding aside. | 22"/18" x 13.5" Hermes Sidesaddle Medium, TB-style tree. Narrow doeskin pommels and leather seat. Complete with fitting, stirrup leather, stirrup, and Whippy balance girth. This is the most beautiful sidesaddle I have ever seen! It was made in France in 1929 for a Mrs. Salmon (per Hermes upon looking up the serial number). It features exquisite leather and stitching; however, not only does it look amazing, it puts the rider in a wonderful position for flatwork and jumping -- truly an equitation saddle. This sidesaddle embodies the style, elegance, and superb craftsmanship for which Hermes is known. $6,500 Click here for more pictures |
| 20.5"/16" x 13" Owen Sidesaddle Medium tree. Doeskin seat & wide pommels. Linen bottom. Single-position leaping head. This saddle was fully checked over, and put back into like-new condition, by master British saddler Michael Dainton in 2005. He put on all new billets, a new stirrup leather, and new stitching and leather where needed. This saddle is yet further proof of why an Owen is probably the most desired sidesaddle for most riders today. It has a lovely flat seat that enables the rider to get forward for jumping, while the workmanship is second to none. $3,000 Click here for more pictures |
