4/17/2010:
We have had a few great weeks of riding weather, which has been so nice after the winter. Last weekend, we took Warlock to
his first hunter show at Fox Chase Farm to do a 2'6" division. Anticipating a nice "starter"-type show, we were shocked to find
bending lines, a rollback, and a one-stride! Nothing like trial by fire, huh? But Warlock was simply wonderful. He started off by
winning the hack out of 19 horses, and then packed around the courses, and got a 4th in the first o/f class. I didn't quite chip
the "in" of the one-stride in the second course, but it was close, so were out of the ribbons. But with the 1st and 4th, he still
ended up Reserve Champion! Not bad for his first time out. He really is one of the bravest horses that I have ever been on. No
peek, no hesitation, EVER.

Today we schooled Jeffrey over a few courses, and he was, as always, just fabulous. His jump, scope, and step really are
impressive, as is how comfortable and well-trained he is. He is simply always a pleasure to ride.

We are h
oping to take Jeffrey and Warlock to a VHSA show tomorrow for each of them to do a division, either the 2'9" or 3'.
We are trying to get as many show miles on them as we can, so they are ready to do the rated shows next month. Warlock will
be moving up to the 3' at the locals, and then the 3' Pre-Greens, 3' A/A's, and Sidesaddle at the rateds. Jeffrey will be aimed at
the 3' in the locals and 3' A/A's at the rateds, and might be doing some low-level eventing this summer as well.

As of this time, our tentative show schedule for the rest of the year is below. This summer dates may change once we find out

2/19/2010:
SNOWMAGGEDON! Well, we are still unable to do much of any riding. The snow of the past two weeks was horrendous! The
first snowfall was on Feb. 2nd, where we got around 8". Then, after it had packed down to around 5", the blizzard of
Friday-Saturday 2/5-6 left us with an additional 34" of snow!! Then, the following Tuesday, we got yet another 10"!! Let me
tell you, George and I are more than sick of shoveling snow, and the horses aren't even playing in it any more. We weren't even
able to get the long driveway to the barn plowed out until the Friday 2/12, since our tractor got stuck, and we had to hire
someone with a special plow. We still have around 2.5' of snow in the riding area, and the driveway is a bit too icy to risk
hauling the trailer in a non-emergency situation. So now we are waiting for the "big melt," and dreading what the fields are
going to look like with that much water. The poor horses are going to be stuck in the dry lot areas for a while, unfortunately, so
they don't destroy the grass. Other than that, all the CBF people, horses, dogs, and cats are doing well, and just waiting for
spring to arrive.

2/2/2010:
I don't know about you all, but we are SICK of snow, ice, and cold! And of course they are calling for more this week. We are
hoping to eventually go hunting on horseback one of these days, but in the meantime will just have to trudge through that white
stuff and hope it warms up and everything melts.

Jeffrey, the new gray horse, has arrived, and will begin hunting whenever the footing allows hunting to resume. In the
meantime, he has been in work all winter, and is ready to step into the show ring tomorrow. He is very reasonably priced, so
please contact us if you are interested in seeing him.

12/19/09:
Happy Holidays from George and Devon! And thank you to all our customers. We had a very successful 2009, in terms of horse
sales, show results, and sidesaddle sales, and look forward to making 2010 even better!

We will have a new horse arriving either by the end of the year or early in the new year. "Jeffrey" is a 5 yr old, 16.3 hh, gray gelding.
He has been doing a few rated Baby Greens divisions, and also the local 2'6" hunter show circuit in TN with a teenage rider, and
earned a Championship year-end award in their division. Jeffrey will start hunting with us when he arrives. If you are looking for an
attractive, big horse, please contact us and I'll let you know when he arrives in VA.
